Another low maintenance variety, and ones that are very popular, are air plants - genus Tillandsia. . . . These need a bit of a mist every few weeks and as long as they are not in direct burning sun seem to be fairly happy wherever. They can produce flowers and will propagate readily when established. . . . I would always try to go for more colourful varieties like this red one!
